AmiciMusic presents “IRON MAIDENS” on Friday, May 6 at 7:30pm. This is a thrilling program of sadly neglected, but incredibly powerful, piano quartets by three amazing women composers—Luisa LeBeau, Dora Pecacevic, and Amanda Rontgen-Maier. All three works are filled with passion, power, and lyricism, and deserve to be a permanent part of the repertoire. The brother and sister team of Emmanuel (violin) and Frances (cello) Borowsky will be joined by violist Anna Pelczer from Germany, and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser on piano. There will also be a special performance of the first movement of Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” String Quartet by a fantastic group of young students from the Peabody Prep Department, part of a new collaboration between AmiciMusic and Peabody Prep Department to showcase talented young musicians.
