80's Strong

In navigating the transition into late life with a sense of purpose and fulfillment, the Center for Wellbeing aims to support aging transitions that involve profound internal changes in identity, meaning and purpose.  The goal is to help individuals investigate their resistance to life as it is and to discover how to reorient by turning within, attuning to their soul’s longing, and cultivating a deeper shift in awareness.  The Center for Wellbeing will shed light on issues related to healthy aging, advance care planning, dementia, caregiving and other topics related to elders.  Those who are 80+ are invited to join us every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Grief Work

Known in the parish as “Sacred Space for Grace”, we offer a lay-led ministry  for parishioners and people in the community who are experiencing grief and loss. This is a place in which to listen, talk and share with others who have suffered a life loss. This is a small, closed-session format in which group members benefit most when they are able to attend all sessions.  Fall 2024 TBA

Ruth's Sisters

If you are a woman in “mid-life”, transitioning from the “first half” of your life into “the second half” — perhaps contemplating a new job or career change, an empty(ing) nest and/or retiring (as some examples), and navigating the ways in which your body, mind and spirit are changing as well — consider joining Ruth’s Sisters. Ruth’s Sisters is a group of women loosely ages 45 to 65 (70?), grounded in faith, reason, tradition, experience and curiosity, ever open to the movement of God’s spirit in and through us.

Tuesday Group

The Tuesday Group is a diverse gathering (currently all women but men are welcome) who gather on Tuesday mornings in the Cloister Room from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Typically, the group reads aloud a spiritual book, shares each other’s triumphs and sorrows and asks for prayers for people that the group will pray for during the coming week.

Centering Prayer

Twice a week, groups gather to meditate: Tuesdays 6-7:15 p.m. on Zoom and Saturdays from 10-11:15 a.m. in person and Zoom.  Centering Prayer is the primary modality for this group, but all meditation practices are welcome.

Fall 2024
Join us in Centering Prayer to “unplug”! Annie Lamott states—in a Facebook post on April 8, 2015 that went viral: “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

Centering Prayer is a meditation practice that essentially teaches how to “unplug”. We practitioners invite you to join us and learn how to do this. Then we can return to the work at hand with greater intensity and goodwill.

Knitting Ministry

A group designed for those who enjoy knitting or crocheting for others.  Typically items for babies and shawls and lap robes for those hospitalized or in hospice care are made.  The group will meet on Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. in various locations of the church (even outside on nice days).  Crocheting or knitting is not a pre-requisite to join.  Members are willing to teach, too.

Meeting dates for the 2024-25 program year: September 25, October 23, December 11, January 22, 2025, February 26, March 26, April 23 and May 28
